摘要

A thorough understanding of the avascular spaces of the pelvis is essential for safe pelvic dissection. Spaces refer to an area filled with areolar connective tissue bordered by at least two fasciae. Spaces can be dissected open by dividing fascia along cleavage planes [1]. A variety of spaces have been described in both classical and modern anatomical dissections. In this chapter, we will describe eight commonly encountered spaces during pelvic dissection.
