Answering the Challenge: Research, Benefits and Applications of Nanotechnology

This chapter surveys the application of nanotechnology to major systems for space exploration and Moon and Mars surfaces. These subsystems include satellite propulsion, energy, to be generated and stored, electronics and sensors. In addition, the ability of nanotechnology applications to address the radiation and thermal environments that impact all subsystems and human inhabitants are covered.
