Addressing Trauma-Related Needs of Young Children with Developmental Delays and Disabilities
摘要
It is important to address the trauma-related needs of children under the age of six years who have both developmental delays or disabilities and exposure to psychological trauma. This chapter reviews evidence of significant rates of co-occurrence of these issues, with complex and at times unclear patterns concerning direction of causality. It then discusses implications for early childhood trauma therapists as well as other service providers for young children with disabilities.
