Intimate Partner Violence in Primary Care: Screening, Recognition, and Contingency Planning
摘要
Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a common and overlooked problem which can have serious impacts on our patients’ health. Routine screening using open and destigmatizing approaches can help increase detection of IPV. When IPV is identified, primary care providers should feel comfortable validating patients’ experiences, assessing for safety risks, and supporting patients to create safety plans or connecting with more resources.
