Metoidioplasty
摘要
Masculinizing genital gender affirming surgery (gGAS) improves mental health, quality of life and sexual satisfaction in gender diverse patients. An option for gGAS in transmasculine or non-binary, or individuals who were assigned female at birth, is metoidioplasty. This procedure utilizes underlying clitoral anatomy to create a small neophallus from endogenous clitoral tissue which becomes enlarged following prolonged exposure to testosterone. This chapter will cover several pertinent topics regarding metoidioplasty including indications for metoidioplasty, pertinent underlying patient anatomy, pre-operative planning, and surgical techniques.
