Introduction: The Nexus Between Media, Language, and Political Communication in Sub-Saharan Africa
摘要
This chapter introduces the chapters of this edited volume, written by scholars focusing on media, language, and political communication issues in the sub-Saharan African context. The authors use real experiences from the sub-Saharan African region as case studies exploring the critical role of the media, language, and literature, as vehicles of communication between various sectors of society, in ensuring (or hampering) the transformation of governance and politics in contemporary times. The chapter outlines the connection between language, media, and literature as vehicles of political communication in relation to the effectiveness of efforts to promote democracy in the region as well as putting an end to the enormous challenges for which the region has become infamous.
