Case Study: Taliza’s Story: Sexual Exploitation

I met Taliza in Tel Aviv, Israel, in an abandoned bus station. She was the saddest, most vulnerable woman I have ever met. The abandoned bus station is known in Israel as ‘the last stop’. This is where you end up as a drug addict and prostitute when you have no place to go to anymore, no more caring friends and family. This is the place where you go when everyone has given up on you, when you hit rock bottom. This abandoned bus station is considered a dangerous place, and it is avoided by everyone else. The sad reality is that most drug addicts and addicted prostitutes die in this place.
