Bright Fame, El Roi The Netherlands

In the heart of the famous Red-Light District is the Dutch organisation Bright Fame. The organisation was founded by Sir Frits Rouvoet, who was knighted in 2023 by order of King Willem-Alexander from The Netherlands and the Major of Amsterdam, Femke Halsema, for his years of helping people in the sex industry. For eighteen years Sir Rouvoet has been walking the Red-Light District of Amsterdam, building relationships with the women behind the windows and helping them to change their lives. He has spoken in the Romanian parliament about the fate of Romanian sex workers in the Netherlands. He also shared his experiences with several news companies such as CNN and BBC [1]. He contributed to the Dutch TV shows Jojanneke in de Prostitutie (Jojanneke in the Sex Industry) and Jojanneke uit de Prostitutie (Jojanneke left the Sex Industry). These shows shed light on the realities of Dutch prostitution, the global porn industry in general and the difficulties that women experience when they to want to escape from the sex industry [2].
