African Christians Outside of Africa

Through review of literature, this chapter argued that African Christians are engaging the West and the rest of the world in an evangelization process called reverse mission. The chapter looked first at migration of African people to the west, especially of the Christians in Africa made possible by Euro-American Immigration Policy; second, the situation of the churches planted or transposed by the migrant Christians from African nations; third, the political relevance of African Christians in the western nations where they are located; and fourth, the demography of the African Christians in the west, followed by concluding remark. The approaches were sociological and historical. However, personal reflection of the author, who had worshipped in African Christian Churches, especially among Pentecostal Christians in Nigeria, USA, and London, was taken into consideration. The chapter focused on the UK and North America. References were also made to other western nations where African Christians are located.
