Multi-stage Prototyping for Introducing IoT Concepts: A Case Study

摘要

This chapter describes implementation issues of the educational IoT using the theoretical background discussed in the previous chapter. The essential contribution of this chapter is (i) a systemic analysis of the IoT as a solution domain by describing how to design educational IoT prototypes; (ii) the enhancement of STEM in all dimensions, especially in engineering and technology aspects, through introducing and implementing the multi-stage prototyping in designing IoT prototypes for educational purposes. The design methodology we apply also covers the specification of the multi-stage prototyping process and the extension of the Smart Learning Environment with adequate tools. In summary, the proposed approach opens the possibility for students to understand better the relationship of IoT with other Big Concepts (DS and AI). It is also a source for gaining integrated STEM-driven thinking and skills.
