Central nervous system tumours constitute a heterogeneous group with different imaging appearances. Radiotherapy planning using CT scans is often challenging due to the complexities of normal anatomy. This chapter will discuss the relevant neuroanatomy of the brain, focusing on the basic imaging features of normal anatomy, including important organs at risk (OARs). It will also help understand the connection pathways within the brain to aid contouring.

摘要

Central nervous system tumours constitute a heterogeneous group with different imaging appearances. Radiotherapy planning using CT scans is often challenging due to the complexities of normal anatomy. This chapter will discuss the relevant neuroanatomy of the brain, focusing on the basic imaging features of normal anatomy, including important organs at risk (OARs). It will also help understand the connection pathways within the brain to aid contouring.
