Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is increasingly being used to improve the accuracy of target delineation and treatment verification. This chapter reviews the basics of MRI, various sequences, and their appearance, as well as the selection of the best sequence(s) for target volume delineation for common tumours. It also introduces the MR simulator and MR-Linac.
