In this chapter, we discuss the physics behind the Bloch equations and provide the foundations for the dynamics of the magnetization vector. We investigate the basis for the magnetization vector in the laboratory and rotating frame under the influence of a magnetic field. We can attain valuable insights into the MRI sequences by understanding these essential principles.
