Science, Spirituality and Virtue Ethics
摘要
We give a nuanced and holistic description of what science is, how it is practised and how it is expressed. We pay particular attention to the human being who is doing the science. In this way, we see science and spirituality, along with virtue ethics, of mutual relevance, keeping their identities intact. Written in the vein of World Philosophy, we try to steer clear of narrow viewpoints beyond philosophical reasoning. This paper, anticipated as a foundation for future studies, builds on my lectures at the University of Toronto on ‘Knowledge, Identity and Behaviour: An Introduction to Indian Philosophy’.
