Deep Plane Thread Lift of the Buccal Fat Pad
摘要
Skin, subcutaneous tissue, muscle, and bone all undergo changes as we age. The relationship between the facial space and surrounding tissue is not similar to a youthful face due to volumetric alterations. Buccal fat pad displacement (pseudoherniation) may cause a puffy cheek mass. With upward displacement into the buccal region, pseudoherniation of the buccal fat pad can be easily minimized. With a thorough understanding of facial anatomy and surgical proficiency, the deep plane thread lift is a safe, practical, and simple procedure for repositioning the buccal fat pads. Buccal fat pad repositioning to improve the aesthetic contour of the lower face may be a viable treatment for patients with buccal fat pad pseudoherniation.
