Non-state Actors as Law-Makers

The category of non-state actors is heterogeneous in nature. From the perspective of this study, however, what is crucial is not their nature as participants in international relations, but the source of their authority to formulate normative statements. This chapter analyses three key sources of this power: delegation, consent of the subject and transfer of knowledge into the field of law.
