Understanding Ethnicity for Conflict Resolution
摘要
The purpose of this paper is to illustrate the nature of the relationship between Turkey and Azerbaijan. Specifically, it sheds light on the fact that there is a “basic ground” for Turkish-Azeri cooperation other than the religious and economic factors, which is based on the “shared ethnicity”. The paper focuses on the historical relationship between the two people to explain the “ethnicity dimension” between the Turkish-Azeri nations, by relying on the previous literature and top-notch studies and journalism to explain: why Turkey tends always to provide a full support to Azerbaijan and its starting points? The study supports the previous literature by highlighting Turkey's convictions that push it to support Azerbaijan and its starting points. The paper will also give a clear view of those working in peacebuilding and negotiations about the nature of relations between these two countries.
