Cataract Surgery and Vitreoretinal Surgery
摘要
This chapter focuses on the surgical considerations and techniques for cataract surgery in the context of pars plana vitrectomy (PPV). The authors emphasize the benefits of combining cataract surgery skills with retina surgery, highlighting the advantages and challenges of simultaneous cataract and PPV procedures. They discuss complications such as lens feathering, lens touch and cataract development after PPV, as well as factors affecting cataract progression. The authors offer practical guidance for performing combined cataract and PPV surgery or staged procedures, and provide insights into intraoperative steps, such as trocar placement, intraocular lens power calculations, and surgical techniques. The chapter also examines the considerations and techniques for cataract surgery in the setting of dense vitreous hemorrhage, prior vitrectomy, and silicone oil-filled eyes.
