Vitrectomy in the Presence of Opaque Cornea

In this chapter, temporary keratoprosthesis (TKP) is highlighted as an effective solution for optimizing posterior segment visualization in vitreoretinal surgery cases with opaque corneas and no operative view with conventional viewing techniques. The authors provide a comprehensive overview of the types of contemporary TKPs and the pros and cons of each type. They also detail the surgical steps of combined TKP and pars plana vitrectomy surgery, elaborating on clinical contexts and offering practical insights into achieving successful surgical outcomes.
