摘要

This chapter provides an overview of the surgical management of idiopathic uveal effusion syndrome (UES), a rare condition characterized by relapsing and remitting choroidal and serous retinal detachment. The chapter explores the types of UES, signs and symptoms, diagnostic criteria, differential diagnosis, and various imaging techniques utilized in its evaluation. Surgical indications and techniques are extensively discussed, including approaches like vortex vein decompression, localized scleral surgery, ultrasound-guided hybrid techniques, Ex-Press shunt placement, and circumferential partial-thickness sclerectomy. Intraoperative and postoperative complications are outlined, and key points for diagnosis and management are highlighted.
