The Impact of Power System Plants Other Than Large-Scale Generation and Transmission Network on Wide-Area Power System Dynamic Performance Using Case Studies of DER, Microgrids, Industrial Power Systems, and Network Protection Systems
摘要
In this chapter, several examples will be provided that demonstrate how to perform specialized interconnection planning studies. Protection studies tend to be part of detailed planning work that occurs after the interconnection studies described in Chap. 12 are complete and before the in-service date. Connection of large industrial loads and DERs require some specialized interconnection planning. Also, creation or modification of microgrids can require detailed electromagnetic transient (EMT) studies, especially if grid-forming resources are being proposed. Figure 14.1 below characterizes the three main types of studies, typical study time frame, models used, and focus.
