Democracy and a Quality Education in South Asia: A Conclusion

The purpose of this conclusion chapter is to conclude the volume’s theme related to the politics of education in South Asia. Throughout the volume the chapter authors have explored the contours of education and democratization in South Asia. Much of the writing was situated during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, which had a significant global impact on democratic systems of government and education systems. This volume provided a comprehensive examination of the politics of education in South Asia in relation to the pursuit of a quality education through: (1) educational reforms and (2) educational resistance. In this chapter, we conclude this volume and draw some conclusions in relation to democracy and education in South Asia.
