Immersion Control for Intelligent Recognition of the Psycho-Emotional State

The paper discusses the role of immersion in rehabilitation systems based on implementation of virtual and augmented reality with an example of intelligent recognition of psycho-emotional state. The automated solution is presented for virtual reality systems capable of analysis of the user’s immersion, which extends the concept of accented visualization. As an experiment, we consider the case of analyzing the reflexive state of subjects who were shown images of faces exaggeratedly depicting certain emotions. The results demonstrate the possibility and importance of controlling the degree of involvement of the user of the immersive environment in the applications of psychological diagnostics and medical rehabilitation.
