Celiac Plexus SBRT
摘要
Severe upper abdominal/lower back pain is a defining characteristic of pancreatic cancer. Celiac plexus radiosurgery is an experimental palliative treatment developed at the Sheba Medical Center, Israel, and is part of an ongoing prospective trial. High-dose radiation is targeted to the retroperitoneal celiac plexus, from the levels of the 12th thoracic to the level of the second lumbar vertebrae, inclusive. The preliminary positive results of an international phase II trial have been reported in abstract form.
