摘要

The electrification of transportation with new electric and hybrid smart vehicles has been accelerated as part of the fight against climate change. Increased performance and lower costs of related components such as lithium-ion batteries, electric motors, and motor drives have also aided the transition to electric mobility. Nonetheless, new smart technologies are required to optimize the performance of the vehicles over their entire lifetime in order to bring them into the mainstream. One such novel technology is based on the emerging concept of the Digital Twin (DT). A DT can emulate the actual vehicle on the road in order to predict/optimize its performance and improve the overall car safety. As part of the E-Mule project, this paper tackles the development approach that pave the way for building an electric vehicle Digital Twin for health condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.
