Randomized Controlled Trials in Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, and Oral Radiology

Oral medicine, oral pathology, and oral radiology cover a range of topics. Oral medicine alone covers diagnosis and treatment of patients that are medically complex, the management of patients with oral manifestations of systemic disease, the diagnosis and management of patients with orofacial mucosal and skin disorders, orofacial pain, temporomandibular disorders, neurosensory disorders, and salivary complaints. The goal of this chapter is to provide a broad overview of the literature, highlighting gaps as well as challenges for future randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
