摘要

The immaculate control of atoms and molecules with light is the defining trait of modern experiments in ultracold physics. The rich internal degrees of freedom afforded by molecules provide new tools for various quantum science applications, including precision spectroscopy. This thesis explores the creation and utilization of Van der Waals dimers of strontium for terahertz metrology and quantum chemistry. In this prologue, I introduce basic terminology and concepts in molecular science and frequency metrology. I describe the motivations behind this work and give a brief overview of contemporary experiments to contextualize the research conducted in this thesis.
