Telekinesis, super strength, super speed, the ability to fly or control storms or the properties of metals at your whim. Sounds good, does not it? These are just some of the powers that the X-Men, the most famous mutants in the comic book world, have. But, what is a mutation? How do they affect our health? Why are they important for the evolution of species? In this chapter we will take a brief journey through some scientific discoveries that will help us answer these questions.
