摘要

In the present study, we try to analyse the efficacy of constant seismicity and moment release constraint on PSHA in seismic gap regions located in the Himalaya’s central seismic gap, which is an area where constant tension builds up but is not released by earthquakes. The hazard maps reveal that the ground motion pattern is unchanged by either technique, constant seismicity or moment release constraint, although the values of PGA from constant seismicity are lower than those from seismic moment release constraint. The risk (PGA) determined by constant seismicity is comparable to prior ground motions recorded at various sites, but the risk determined by seismic moment release is extremely high and indicates that larger seismicity may be released in the future. These measures should be considered such models for more accurate seismic hazard parameters.
