Investigation of Decision Support System for Indian Penal Code Section Using Similarity Algorithm and Fuzzy Logic

This research study focuses on the development and investigation of a Decision Support System (DSS) for Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections using a combination of similarity algorithm and fuzzy logic. The DSS aims to assist law enforcement agencies and legal professionals in effectively analyzing and interpreting the applicability of IPC sections to specific legal cases. The proposed system leverages a similarity algorithm to compare the textual content of crime reports and provisions of the IPC sections. By calculating the similarity score, the system can identify the most relevant IPC sections which are likely to be applicable to a given case. In addition, fuzzy logic techniques are employed to provide help in decision-making to determine the applicable IPC sections for crime reports.
