Corruption: The Lived Experience—Interview Participants’ Perspectives

This chapter addresses limited regional generated data on political corruption and the absence of any Caribbean voice/perspective in existing corruption assessment tools, by providing ‘lived experience’ data, valuable in itself and as a cross check for the major themes and issues raised earlier in the book (definitions of corruption; historical and cultural context; governance; addressing corruption and potential solutions). Qualitative, inductive research is used to analyse 24 semi-structured interviews carried out in two case study countries—St Vincent & the Grenadines and Grenada.
