Methods for Assessing Residential Quality and Housing Preferences in Lagos

This chapter dwells on the types and sources of data, research design, methods of data collection, estimation of models and measures of variables and analytical techniques adopted for the study of residential quality and housing preferences in Lagos. The strategies for housing preference analysis are heuristic in nature, as it involves with direct revealed choices and the explanation of the conjoint experimental design used in the stated choices. The chapter gives information on the model specification and model estimation. The variables used are explained, and the different statistical techniques employed are also enunciated. Further, information on the statistical tools for testing the set hypotheses in the book is elaborated upon.
