Advanced TMJ arthroscopy is a technique-sensitive skill with a steep learning curve that requires dedication and repetition. Every step relies on the previous one, so errors compound technical difficulties. This chapter focuses on double puncture arthroscopy and should be reviewed regularly throughout learning this unique procedure, as some of the pearls and pitfalls are better understood with repetition. The purpose of this chapter is to review the pearls and pitfalls of temporomandibular joint arthroscopy.
