Pearls and Pitfalls of Supraclavicular Flap

  • Srinivasa Rama Chandra

摘要

Supraclavicular flap or supraclavicular island flap is based on the skin and fascia of the supraclavicular area, which is of an axial pattern recently popularized for head and neck reconstruction and server comment scar contractures. The supraclavicular flap is a fascio-cutaneous locoregional flap on the supraclavicular artery. The flap may be rotated around the base of its pedicle to reconstruct a diverse range of mucosal and cutaneous defects of the deep neck spaces, larynx, trachea, mid and lateral face, oral cavity, and oropharynx. The purpose of this chapter is to review the anatomy of the flap and explain the pearls and pitfalls while harvesting the supraclavicular flap for head and neck reconstruction.
