Lithium ion batteries (LIBs) are currently ubiquitous in almost all the products from portable electronics like mobile phones and computers to electric vehicles like electromotive cars or drones. The demand for LIBs is ever growing to meet the exploding requirement for electric energy storage (EES) and supply due to the global trend for harvesting renewable green energy and reducing consumption of fossil fuels.
