Lines with Nonlinear Loads

A resistively terminated transmission line system is shown in Figure 9.1. In previous chapters, we approached a resistively-loaded system by solving the appropriate equations analytically, introducing reflection coefficients and other simplifications. In the event that the load is a nonlinear device, however, we must revert back to first principles in order to work out the solution.
