The Lift Force on the Finite-Sized Particle Along Particle Trajectory in the Wall-Turbulent Flow over the Sediment Bed
摘要
The data from a particle-resolved direct numerical simulation (PR-DNS) of two-phase over the sediment bed are used to examine the existing lift force models, including flow shear, wall effect and particle rotation. It is found that, in the current case, the rotation-induced lift force is the dominant during particle saltating, and the classical lift models could not predict the resolved lift force alone in particle motion. On this basis, a new lift force correction is proposed. By evaluation, it can reasonably forecast the lift force by PR-DNS along the particle trajectory.
