The Quantum Impurity Problem

Giving a clear and appropriate description of matter requires to consider the coexistence of an astronomically large number of particles. A piece of metal is expected to host no less than \(10^{23}\) particles, and trying to follow the behavior of so many objects interacting simultaneously has more to do with madness than physics.
