Sentiment Analysis: Indian Languages Perspective
摘要
Sentiment is a feeling or opinion on the basis of perception of a particular person, product or situation. Process of sentiment analysis (SA) consists of identification and categorizing such sentiments. It also includes natural language processing as well as data analysis to get meaningful data from raw data. An abundance of research is done in Sentiment analysis area with respect to English language. But there have not been many experiments done in the Indian local/regional languages like Hindi, Marathi, Konkani, Gujarati. Since the last decade, there has been tremendous increase in digital data accessible in Indian dialects on world wide web from different sources like social media, blogs, reviews, opinions, news content and feedback systems. So, it has become crucial to investigate and process such data to get insights of it. This data can be very beneficial for government agencies, businesses, organizations or individuals. This paper reviews research in the area of sentiment analysis in Indian regional languages especially Hindi and Marathi. It is also discussed in literature review about different sentiment analysis tools, challenges, approaches and techniques. The paper also provides an overview of research gap from existing research work.
