Despite the central role of the body in mindfulness interventions, there has been a lack of psychometrically sound measures to assess the relevant aspects of body mindfulness. Body mindfulness has been defined as observing body experiences and, as a consequence, appreciating body experiences. The 14-item self-report Body Mindfulness Questionnaire (BMQ) is intended to assess both the observing part of body mindfulness and the often-neglected appreciating aspect of body mindfulness. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses suggested two subscales: Experiencing Body Awareness and Appreciating Body Awareness. Evidence for the reliability (internal consistency and retest reliability), validity (factorial validity and construct validity), and sensitivity to change has been reported. The BMQ is a valid and reliable questionnaire to assess body mindfulness.

摘要
