Nondual Awareness Dimensional Assessment (NADA)
摘要
Two versions of the Nondual Awareness Dimensional Assessment-Trait (NADA) were developed as self-report measures of nondual awareness. The trait version of the NADA (NADA-T) was developed to assess durable awareness shifts resulting from mindfulness training. The NADA-T is a 13-item instrument measuring two dimensions of nondual awareness: (1) self-transcendence and (2) bliss. The NADA-T has evidenced good construct validity and known-group validity; it has also proven sensitive to mindfulness training, with mindfulness-related increases in the frequency of nondual experiences predicting subsequent decreases in clinical symptomology (e.g., chronic pain). The state version of the NADA (NADA-S) is a three-item scale designed to measure the immediate effects of mindfulness practice on nondual awareness. The NADA-S has also proven sensitive to mindfulness training, with training-related increases in nondual states predicting subsequent improvement in clinical outcomes (e.g., physical function). Though the NADA-T and NADA-S are both relatively new scales, they provide researchers with a standardized options for assessing nondual experiences prompted by mindfulness and other consciousness altering practices.
