摘要

Sensor technologies are a fast-developing area of interest in science and product design, encompassing advances in electronics, photonics, mechanics, chemistry, and biology. Intelligent sensors provide real-time, practical input to managers, developers, and engineers to improve production, performance, and manufacturing adaptability. Their presence is familiar in everyday life, where they are employed to detect sound, movement, and optical or magnetic impulses. As a result, sensors are critical in factory automation for making the system intelligent. Different sensors are available based on suitability and use; some are mass-produced and widely available at reasonable prices. This chapter will focus on sensors, their varieties, and their essential manufacturing capabilities. We found several critical sensor applications for the industry, which provides a fantastic chance for the global sensor market to flourish. Position sensors, pressure sensors, flow sensors, temperature sensors, and force sensors are the most common sensor kinds. They have been used in various industries, including motorsport, aerospace, agriculture, and everyday life. Sensors are essential for industries; Sensors allow changes in positions, length, height, and external dislocations in industrial production facilities to be detected, measured, analyzed, and processed. The significant length disciplines, radiation, safety, and industrial process management provide specialized technical skills and extensive consultancy services. Sensor installations in process management, automated manufacturing lines, and digital supply chains will likely increase.
