Electrochemical Sensors from Biodegradable Materials

The field of electrochemical sensing devices is speedily witnessing significant development. Many natural and hybrid materials are widely used as platforms for the development of these electrochemical sensors. Among them, biodegradable materials have gained increasing interest from researchers, including industrialists, during the last decade owing to their availability, recyclability, and low cost compared to commercially available materials. Therefore, the recent book chapter focuses on the main routes reported for preparing biodegradable materials for electrochemical sensors. Then, the main applications are covered comprehensively. At the end of this chapter, the prospects and challenges of the mentioned materials are also overviewed.
