The causes and the clinic of congenital and childhood corneal opacity are diverse. A possible subdivision of congenital corneal opacity is that described by Nischal and colleagues. This classification divides between primary and secondary corneal diseases. In the upcoming chapters, primary and secondary infantile corneal opacities will be discussed individually in further detail.
