摘要

The goal of this overview is to help healthcare professionals (physicians, nurses, and dietitians), care givers, and everyone else involved in the care of cancer patients understand the nutritional concerns that patients with cancer face. The purpose of this work is to provide a straightforward manual for routine clinical practice. Malnutrition's theoretical foundation and in-depth, thorough reviews are covered elsewhere. The treatment of cancer depends greatly on nutrition. It has an impact on treatment results, quality of life, and tolerability. However, due to inadequate instruction in nutrition-related subjects gained throughout graduate and postgraduate study as well as an underestimation of its significance, an emphasis on nutrition is still absent among oncologists. As a result, the effects of the illness and its treatment, such as anorexia, sarcopenia, and cachexia, are still frequently ignored, underdiagnosed, untreated. In order to bridge the gap between thorough guidelines and clinical practice, where short, specific recommendations are preferred to systematic reviews, the authors have included the most significant difficulties, evidence-based recommendations, and typical clinical scenarios. Additionally, a simple overview is given that can be utilized as a reference throughout daily activities.
