Impact of Climate Change on Livestock and Poultry for Sustainable Food Production
摘要
Climate change has affected the livestock and poultry sectors worldwide. Animal growth, feed consumption, mortality, production (i.e., milk and meat) and reproduction are strongly related to the environment. Climate change has direct and indirect effects on animals (lack of water, fodder, and pasture). Methane is an important greenhouse gas that is responsible for climate change. Ruminant (Cattle, buffalo, sheep, and goat) animals produce more methane in their intestinal fermentation process and mix it into the atmosphere causing environmental problems in the animal sector.
