Impact of Climate Change in Sustainable Food Production
摘要
Sustainable food production refers to production of crops and manufacturing of food in such a manner that it doesn’t compromise the ability of future generations to meet their needs and demands besides minimizing the impact on climate and ensuring food security. Climate changes like global warming and rising levels of greenhouse gasses have shown to improve crop production but irregular fluctuations and extreme events have had a negative impact on food production. The inconsistent climatic conditions have impacted developing countries that have lower capacity to combat these changes. These changes have hampered food production in numerous ways. This particular chapter elucidates on the impact of climate change on food production, interrelationship of food access, food availability and effects of climate change on food security.
