Recent years have seen a meteoric rise in the widespread use of digital technologies in dental practice. It is now possible to use a greater variety of materials and techniques in the fabrication of removable partial denture (RPD) framework, denture bases, and artificial teeth because of advancements in CAD-CAM technologies. When compared to frameworks fabricated using conventional casting processes, those produced using CAD-CAM and rapid prototyping exhibit greater improvements in the mechanical strength of the metal framework. Lab work, time, and materials required to fabricate the denture’s base and framework might be reduced as a result of these innovation. Studies have demonstrated that RPDs may be produced with clinically acceptable precision and accuracy using digital technology. Furthermore, in vivo studies revealed that these cutting-edge technologies are positive in terms of patient satisfaction and suitable biomechanical performance. There are several machines available for both subtractive and additive manufacturing processes. Each technique differs in its method and materials employed, as well as its benefits, limitations, and applications. In the first chapter of this part, it is described that the data acquisition and design of a digital RPD. The second chapter draws attention to the fabrication process and materials of the digital RPD.
