Delusions of Infestation in the Media and on the Internet

Doctors, scientists, and other professionals who encounter patients with delusional infestation (DI) can play an important role in improving public understanding of the condition, both by communicating directly with patients and by coordinating with other health care professionals. This chapter provides an overview of the landscape of information available to the public about DI, in media portrayals of DI (in both fictional and news coverage) as well as online resources.
