Introduction

As physicians, we need to approach Delusional Infestation (DI) patients with empathy and compassion. Before starting to manage the disorder, physicians and nonmedical professionals should ask themselves, “Do I have the time, resources, patience, and compassion to help these patients?” In many ways, physicians and patients are navigating a difficult condition in opposite directions, and both need support. This book brings the two together. The more the disorder is understood, the better the outcome for both physicians and patients.
